1609 – The Brewers Guild (“Gilde”) was recognized as it’s own legal entity
1868 – The Brewers Guild transformed from a cooperative association into a company
1870 – The Guild purchased property and construction began on a Neogothic style brewery
1925 – The Guild purchased the Lindener Aktien Brewery
1985 – Gilde Brewery became majority shareholder of Hofbrauhaus Wolters AG which at the time was one of the most modern breweries in the world.
1996 – Gilde Brewery celebrated the 450th anniversary of it’s trademark Broyhan Taler.
2019 – Today the Gilde Brewery continues to brew according to the German Purity Law of 1516. We source the finest ingredients and utilize traditional brewing techniques. All our brewers go through certified brewing institutes and serve as apprentices for several years before becoming a brewer. Our brewery is equipped with a laboratory for microbiology testing to ensure the highest quality standards.
